For sure you know Hue which is a famous ancient capital of Vietnam. I’ve been here many times for studying and discovering something about tourism. And one special thing I want to tell that is Atmosphere which from the romance of river, people, lifestyle, and pagodas.
Hue’s pagodas, in general, do not favor significance, or overwhelming sophistication like those newly built in the South, yet hardly do they follow the gloomy and mysterious breath of the North’s ancient ones. Hue’s pagodas, from hundred-year-of-age Imperial Pagodas to ones just under a century of the making, mostly have elegant ways of structuring, while their main hall is not too massive as a mentally thrilling palace, yet earning ancient pagodas’ qualities of strictness.
Hue’s pagoda is a perfectly harmonious combination of structure and nature, and of architectural and Zen garden art. Walking to a pagoda in Hue, we rarely feel as if coming to worship the Lord of Absolute Sacred, on the other hand, we are pretending ourselves back to the very own firstborn version, the kind original ego and the peace of mind. And that states the values that Buddhism is meant to be: where to find stress-free unleash in our state of mind and by our inner power as opposed to rely on the salvation or distribution of any kinds.
While Buddhism in the North is greatly influenced by Shamanism or Buddhism in the South is related to Chinese Confucianism’s complex rituals, Hue’s Buddhism is the mixture of both, whose main hall is set to worship Three Jewels and Four Bodhisattvas: Avalokiteśvara, Mahāsthāmaprāpta (Kṣitigarbha in some occasions), Mañjuśrī and Samantabhadra, unlike the habit of adding some deities of the North, and the South’s way of organizing massive Buddha and Bodhisattva statues side by side with well-prepared altar.
Hue is calculated to have 90% of the population, approximately, as Buddhism followers. This land is also the cradle of numerous sorts of meditation and well-known sects, as well as the place where myriad talents have been originated now and then. It is truly safe to say: Buddhism is attached to culture, culinary art, the body and soul of Hue… In this lunatic world, there are moments when the Zen is impure by evil, or once in a while missing the initial values of the true, the good, and the beautiful taught by Buddha Sakya Muni; nonetheless, the Buddhism culture in Hue is undisputedly the lotus of enlightenment that will never be soiled and spoiled however life spins.
By the way, Hue is not a tourist place; the busy life doesn’t happen here. Why are you still hesitate to be here
